What Is Reiki?

Reiki (ray-key) is a technique that aids the body in releasing stress and tension by creating deep relaxation. Because of this, Reiki promotes healing and health.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “the Wisdom of God or the Higher Power” and Ki which is means ‘life force energy.’
So Reiki means ‘spiritually guided life force energy.’

Once attuned you can transmit subtle energy as an open channel for yourself and others through your ‘Reiki Healing Hands’
Physically, mentally and emotionally Reiki can balance both meridians and chakras that are too open or blocked. Restoring vitality

Reiki Benefits

Reiki has many wonderful benefits on the whole it can:

Accelerate healing
Assist the body in cleansing toxins
Balance the flow of subtle energy by releasing blockages
Help the client contact the ‘healer within.’

We are all healers and we should start to take ownership of this to aid in our own health. You then have a wonderful gift to share with your family, friends and wider community.

Reiki can be used regardless of your health needs or medication you are receiving.

Your Healing Journey begins with Level I, you can choose to further develop your practice with Level II and then on to the Reiki Master Level. I work with the Usui Reiki System of Healing and Certificated with ICRT – International Centre of Reiki Training. I offer a regular monthly Share/Circle, it begins with a Meditation and offers the opportunity to explore Reiki, to give and receive healing, which in a group setting is much more amplified.

My Journey began in the year 2000 with Reiki and I became Master Level in 2002.

LIFELONG LEARNING & TEACHING

I have been a Fully Certified and Qualified Clinical Therapist since the year 2000.

In addition to this I have taught Art as an Art Specialist in all 65 primary schools in West Lothian.

I have worked with Community Projects in West Lothian and Mid Lothian and with West Lothian Youth Theatre. Big projects seen me go to the Millenium Dome for McDonald’s Our Town Story, The National Theatre and the Filmhouse in London where awards were won for all projects.

I taught at West Lothian College and Jewel & Esk Valley College (also as a course tutor, now Edinburgh College) in Art, Drama and Media for Social, Emotional & Behaviour Students as well as Adults with Mental Health and Additional Needs.

Co-Teaching Communications/Numeracy/Sex Education and Home Economics at Jewel & Esk Valley College.

I am a member of the PVG Scheme for Children and Protected Adults.

I have a lifelong love of Essential Oils from making perfume from everything nature could offer me to bottle the beautiful aromas. I never did achieve the amazing top, middle and base notes you can with the Essential Oils that have been perfected with the Seed to Seel process of Young Living.

Their quality is unmatched by others and along with their distillation processes they are the true world leaders in essential oils.
I qualified in Clinical Aromatherapy in 2002 and continue to learn about and teach Essential Oils hoping to inspire others the way I have been all these years.
